They must have gotten quite a few from Vega as Waverly went under in The modern repro is available but made of steel instead of brass. I think they sound better without the perforation of the rim. It has a bracket band, but they drilled through the rim anyway for screws. One way to find out exactly what it's worth: Put it on ebay and you'll find out that its true value is what the highest bidder is willing to pay. I suspect the tailpiece is an aftermarket upgrade. The name was sold to an Asian Corporation in the late 70's. Anything after was assembled in Japan from American parts.

The parts were sent to Canada and Japan and assembled there still under the Martin name.

The serial numbers in the wood rim were 4 digit numbers. Yours looks like a Wonder 5 string which was the bottom of the line. It depends on where it was made and what model it is.
